We’ve known that Ed Sheeran is a terrific guy for a while now. We’ve witnessed him assist fans with marriage proposals and ceremonies, make dreams come true for little kids and give his time to several special causes. This latest story of Ed’s kindness melted our hearts even more.
In a recent UK interview, our favourite ginger pop star revealed that while he was finishing up his latest mega-selling album X, he had his childhood friend Amy Wadge contribute to his hit single “Thinking Out Loud” because the songwriter and her family were having serious financial troubles.
“She drove to my house and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff,” explained Sheeran. “While she was there, we wrote ‘Thinking Out Loud.’ Now she never has to worry about money again.” How amazing is that?

Wadge had previously helped Sheeran write an EP in his early years, called Songs I Wrote With Amy. Cute!
Sheeran confirmed that Wadge is now living a happy life with her family. “She’s got a family and two kids and stuff and every time I speak to her, she’s going on holiday. It’s really nice to see.”
Ed, you’re the best!
