It's been too long since Daisy Ridley was out here rapping on our screens. Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker opens next month just in time for the holidays and in the countdown to that momentous event (we know some of you have already started lining up), Daisy stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV2) to perform a rap recap of the entire franchise. We already knew that Rey and the resistance had serious rhyming chops but it's always nice to be reminded. With her hair slicked back and dressed in a sleek black décolletage-baring suit jacket, Ridley almost gave off a Sith vibe as she began riffing rhymes about Vader, Leia, Luke, Han and Obi-Wan. She was joined on stage by Jimmy who held up visual representations of the lyrics to help us follow along—shout out to that illustrator!
We gotta admit, we're not always on board when a celeb thinks they can rap, but Daisy was like, "Hold my lightsaber" and delivered. The performance was tight, clever, super fun and deeply informative. How could we not love a rap with witty lines like, “Kylo won’t put on a shirt! Kylo is kind of a flirt!” and “Suddenly Luke is in need of a hand” (too real?) and then breaks into a Lizzo "Juice" flow. This is the rap we're looking for. Will it be released on Spotify? Because it’s dang catchy.Everyone from Tatooine to Naboo gets a shout-out, including BB-8, the Ewoks, and *shudder* Jar Jar Binks. Definitely take the time to watch this in full; The Tonight Show clip even includes the lyrics so you can follow along. If only she had ended the bit with, “I have spoken.” Nevertheless, we are anxiously awaiting Daisy’s hip hop album to drop.We aren't totally surprised that Daisy can drop some mad beats, though. When she visited Jimmy earlier this summer, he also had her rap—and not just any rap. Ladies and gentleman, Daisy Ridley flawlessly executed the Li'l Kim rap from "Lady Marmalade." It's just an honour to exist on this planet at the same time as all this talent.[video_embed id='4854331385001']RELATED: Daisy Ridley gives an unfiltered take on Instagram pictures[/video_embed]
