Elle Fanning walked her first runway show ever for Miu Miu on Tuesday, closing out Paris Fashion Week (and Fashion Month) with a bang, and adding another feather in the cap of her already impressive career. Building on her relationship with the brand — she also starred in Miu Miu’s 2014 spring campaign alongside Lupita Nyong’o and Elizabeth Olsen — Fanning was the first and last model to stroll the catwalk wearing the brand’s vintage-inspired fall/winter 2018 fashions. The 19-year-old model and actress was also joined by the likes of Edie Campbell, Kaia Gerber and Vogue’s contributing editor Adwoa Aboah.
Fanning has appeared in over 40 films since launching her career in 2001, and now she’s opening the runway for one of her favourite brands? There’s a word for this: freakin’ awesome! Take a good look, folks, because this is a woman living her best life.
Opening and closing a fashion show is an honour for any model, and Fanning, the little sister to acclaimed actor Dakota Fanning, wore the privilege well, first in a brown camel coat, black ankle boots, white socks, a light blue scarf around her neck and with a fabulously retro beehive-style half updo. Her final look also rocked the big hair, pairing it with a light blue button-down shirt, a dark blue sweater and an oversized tweed coat with leather details.

The Italian fashion brand and Prada subsidiary’s other fall/winter 2018 looks followed the 60s-by-way-of-the-80s theme, with plenty of acid-wash denim, big coats (and hair to match), a diverse array of textures and even some fun florals.
The entire lineup of models looked stylish and powerful, but also like they were having fun, as evidenced by Fanning’s big smile as she led the procession of ladies for the finale walk down the runway. Smiles are in for 2018, and if they’re cool enough for Elle Fanning…
