Ellen does a lot of great things. She makes people laugh, Hilary Clinton named her Special Envoy for Global AIDS Awareness, and she’s championed many causes, like GLAAD, Children’s Health Fund, PETA, Stand Up To Cancer and more. Now Ellen is collaborating with Gap Kids, and her collection is pretty special. It has a social message linked to it, which is to get young girls to embrace their individuality. And to share that message, the comic has plucked some pretty remarkable girls to be the models. Let’s take a look.
One of the models is already engineering 3D prosthetic hands
Torrae Owen is just nine, and she creates 3D prosthetic hands from her house in Washington.
Another model is on her way to becoming a business mogul
Asia Newson is 11 years old, and she’s Detroit’s youngest entrepreneur. Seriously. She owns her own candle business called Super Business Girl. Again, she’s 11.
This girl’s a professional drummer
12-year-old Alexey Poblete is a national award-winning drummer from Los Angeles and she’s totally badass.
And these three are giving us total #squadgoals
The Pink Helmet Posse includes cool-as-heck skateboarders Relz (8), Ryann (6) and Bellatreas (6).
The collection doesn’t launch until August 17, but the collection looks so cool. But more importantly, these girls are amazing.
