There are celebs we assume are relatable because they're so much fun (looking at you, Tracee Ellis Ross) and then there are celebs who are actually relatable—like delight of a human, Elsie Fisher. Elsie's whole shtick is being relatable and nowhere is that more evident IRL than in her interactions with other celebrities.Elsie made the awards show rounds this year for her fantastically genuine performance in Eighth Grade (we all remember middle school #GoodTimes) and she brushed elbows with quite a few stars in the process. In her Tuesday appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (weekdays at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV2), she recounted and then reenacted her favourite interaction from this year's Golden Globes—the moment she met Timothée Chalamet and barely kept her composure. Same, girl, same."I heard this guy go, 'Hey what's up?'" she said. "And then I turned around and it was Timothée Chalamet. And I was like, 'Oh, hi.' And I started shaking." Honestly, we've never identified with someone so hard.
She admitted she was nervous because she's always nervous, but then put a positive spin on it by adding it's her superpower because then people sympathize with her. We know this is about Timmy but that's one of the best takes on anxiety we've ever heard. Own it, girl! You know what definitely doesn't help with nerves? Being confronted by the wooden two-foot-tall possessed-looking likeness of the very man you were just discussing. For some unknown and sinister reason, Jimmy Fallon figured it was a good idea to whip out the Timothée Chalamet ventriloquist doll that had the entire internet shuttering in unison and checking their locks this past summer when it first popped up. The Tonight Show bought the doll when it was up for auction and since it's dressed in Timmy's Golden Globe look, Fallon thought Elsie might want to reenact their first meeting.Ever the good sport, Elsie did just that, although she continued to reflect our own emotions of surprise and horror when Jimmy made the artistic choice to do a French accent while voicing the puppet. Why is the doll French, Jimmy? Every Timmy stan knows the perfect majestic elf boy is from New York! Ah!After that horrific reunion/confrontation, Elsie went on to talk about an upcoming project—she's scoring the background music for a video game called Witch of the Wilderness—an adventure that takes place in the aftermath of the impending climate apocalypse. Cool project, scary reality... though not as scary as seeing that Chalamet doll again. Put it away forever, Jimmy!Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV2.
