Emma Roberts confirms pregnancy with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund

Hold the phone because the Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund pregnancy rumours (fuelled by Roberts’ mom on Instagram) are no longer just rumours. The 29-year-old former Scream Queens star announced that she’s indeed adding to her family in a sweet social media post on August 30.“Me…and my two favourite guys,” she wrote, adding two blue heart emojis to a post of three photos. In the first she’s cradling her bump on a kitchen banquette solo, and in the second and third Hedlund has his arm wrapped around Roberts’ shoulders.

Naturally people were pumped to read and see the news, and many of their celebrity friends chimed in on the comments section. Lea Michele, Roberts’ Scream Queens co-star who recently gave birth to baby boy Ever Leo, wrote, “You will be the greatest mama. I love you Em! Boy moms together.” The actress’s aunt, Julia Roberts, also wrote a simple “Love you” with a winking kiss emoji. And former Grey’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw (who stars with Roberts in Holidate) added, “Can’t wait to be an Auntie!!! Also you couldn’t glow harder if you TRIED!” Busy Philipps, Chelsea Handler, Rumer Willis, Kristin Chenoweth, Kaley Cuoco, Rachel Zoe and plenty more high-profile friends also expressed their well-wishes.This is the first baby for Roberts and her 35-year-old Country Strong boyfriend. The pair have been together for roughly a year and a half, having first been spotted out and about holding hands in New York City in March 2019. Since then they’ve been pretty low-key about it all, choosing not to share too much on social media but attending various industry events in Los Angeles and New York together.That spotlight avoidance could be for good reason. Before Roberts and Hedlund found each other they both had some experience with high-profile relationships. Hedlund famously dated Kirsten Dunst from 2012 to 2016 after starring in On the Road Together. And Roberts had a tumultuous relationship with her American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters, whom she was on and off with for five years and engaged to for a brief period of time. They called it quits for good shortly before Roberts sparked with Hedlund following a few hangs in group settings.Roberts didn’t announce a due date, but it would make sense that they’re at least halfway there if they know the baby’s sex (that ultrasound typically happens at 20 weeks, but there are exceptions). Meanwhile as the couple awaits their new bundle of joy it sounds like they’ll be keeping plenty busy. Hedlund stars in the upcoming Lee Daniels film The United States. Vs. Billie Holiday, while Roberts has a handful of movies in the pre-production stage (including Now I See You and Robots).
