Not all kids who ask their celebrity crush to prom on a public forum succeed. These stars have busy day jobs, ya know!
Consider the case of one Jacob Staudenmaier, the Phoenix, Arizona teen who asked Hollywood superstar Emma Stone to his high school prom in a La La Land-inspired music video. Here, catch yourself up.
Well, hopefully Jacob got course credits for all this hard work, because Emma ain’t coming. Sorry Jake. (Don’t feel bad for the soon-to-be high-school graduate; people say he looks like Ryan Gosling, and anyone who can say that is already pretty lucky.)
So, the 28-year-old actor said no, but she did let him down pretty gently, even sending along a beautiful corsage and handsome boutonniere for him and his date.
She included a handwritten card (side note: Stone has stunning penmanship! Look at those Es and Rs!) to the the student: “Jacob, just a little something for you and your lucky date tomorrow. Have a great time! Much love, Emma Stone.” Isn’t she just as sweet as sugar?

While these celebrity promposals don’t seem to be waning, some folks, like late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel called Staudenmaier’s “creepy.” Creepy!? There’s nothing creepy about taking your chances and uploading an amusing and well thought out video to YouTube.
Staudenmaier uploaded a snap of him and his prom date, a high school student his own age, wearing the gifts from Stone, looking adorable.
Besides, he’ll always have that hand-written note to remember her by. Oh, and this cardboard cutout.
