When it comes to family, no one really wants the extended type staying with them for any great length of time. After all, the love can only last for so long before the annoying habits start to kick in. Still, we do it because it’s family, and that’s what family does.
But when it comes to Kim and Kanye, even the Kardashians can’t stand the thought of having new roommates, even during a teeny tiny renovation.
That’s the word from a recent preview of a new episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, at least. In the clip, Kim explains to the cameras that she and Kanye have been advised to move out of their home so that the renovations team can complete the final stages — namely the bedroom and the bathrooms. She then turns to her mom, Kris, and asks if her family can move back in with her for a bit.
Kris, who put up Kimye for a year while their home was initially being put together, was quick to kibosh that idea. “Oh my God. I would have to make a run for it,” she responds. “Sayonara!”
Unfazed, Kim then brings up the idea of moving in temporarily with sister Kylie Jenner in her new $2.7 million Calabasas mansion.
“I would seriously stab myself,” the sis replies. “Nobody is staying at my house.”
It makes you wonder, how bad could it actually be living with Kanye and Kim? We mean, Kim herself has said that her husband can be a handful. And we all know the trials and tribulations that come with having a know-it-all in the house. But seriously, could it really be that terrible?
Maybe they pawn the baby off on the other family members, or perhaps they’re just like, really bad at cleaning up after themselves? Or perhaps it’s the whole Kimye lifestyle that just doesn’t jive with the fam-jam. And maybe, just maybe, Kris’s issue was the fact that Kim didn’t know how to actually leave her stuff alone?
“After a year and a half, she got really crazy with us and pretty much, not kicked us out, but just was really anxious to get us out,” Kim told Jimmy Kimmel after the experience. “She thought I just got too comfortable and I was starting to rearrange all her furniture in order, different wallpaper. I was going crazy with some of the things in her house, so I wanted to make changes and she wasn’t having it. It’s better that we’re out.”
Which begs the question, why go back? When you’ve got as much money as these people do, we’re sure a hotel for a couple of weeks isn’t out of the question… right? Even if it is, we’re starting to think they may not have a choice.
Who are we kidding, it’s Kim. She’ll find somewhere.
