On Wednesday’s Grey’s Anatomy (Wednesday’s at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. MT on CTV) we expected to get a break from the sheer agony that was last week’s heartbreaker of an episode. This week had enough hook ups to last three major holidays, but it also still came heavy with the heartbreak. Like, woman-dies-seconds-after-marrying-her-soulmate-heartbreak. Ooof.

Everyone got some on Grey’s Anatomy this week and the one person who didn’t (sorry Link) is hot enough and sweet enough (kids with cancer on Christmas – enough said) that he shouldn’t have any trouble finding someone to kiss under the mistletoe. Or give a Valentine’s Day card to. Or an Easter card. Is it Easter yet? They’re really running through the months on this episode.

Let’s review who got some on this week’s Grey’s Anatomy.

MEREDITH GOES FROM A TRIANGLE TO A LINE

After standing up both Deluca and Link at Jo and Alex’s NYE party (LOL at the couple who hate everyone having so many friends), Deluca tells Meredith that he isn’t someone she can toss aside.

So, she asks Link out on Valentine’s Day. Not ready to give up and find someone else to speak Italian with, Deluca surprises Meredith with champagne on the rooftop. I was all for this coupling (sorry Link), but now that they’re together…how is this going to work? How is Meredith going to tell Maggie? How is Deluca going to handle dating someone with three kids? How are Meredith and Alex going to be besties while Meredith dates the guy that Alex almost killed? It feels like a lot of baggage.

Also, ALL THE TEARS at Meredith telling a man who is about to lose his wife that he will get through it. Don’t forget, Deluca. This woman has been THROUGH IT. She is not to be trifled with in any way.

MIRANDA GETS A TREEHOUSE

A treehouse isn’t a euphemism for a sexual act. Or is it? We were too scared to Google it. After receiving treatment for her anxiety, Miranda was able to separate her feelings for Ben from her anxiety and see that her husband was not the cause. That’s great, but Ben being a firefighter is still pretty scary. Either way, we’re happy to see these two back together. Let the Station 19 crossovers continue.

CATHERINE GETS SOME

So, this was a weird one. Catherine is becoming increasingly frustrated with her slow progress following her spinal surgery because “She’s Catherine Fox.” She’s also a lot. Catherine wants to be able to play with her grandchild, but more importantly, she wants to have sex with her husband. Um, feel better?

It was really jarring and uncomfortable to cut between scenes of Catherine crying about not being able to have sex to scenes of Jackson crying because he was worried about his mother. We assume he just wanted to see her play with her grandchild.

Update, she recovered. Goodie for Richard.

TOM AND TEDDY ARE TOO CUTE

Starting a new relationship while pregnant with your best friend’s baby isn’t ideal, but we don’t care. We are loving Tom and Teddy together and we’re just trying to enjoy it until the inevitable moment when Owen has Leo taken away (Betty is Britney?!) and goes into a spiral that includes him declaring his love for Teddy and trying to sabotage her relationship with Tom. Until then, we love us a man who knows how amazing it feels to get a mani/pedi.

SCHMIDT AND NICO PLAN FOR NEXT YEAR

Each cast lineup of Grey’s Anatomy has a character that inevitably becomes the hospital punching bag. First it was George, then April, and most recently Glasses/Schmidt. Thanks to his new confidence after coming out and finding Nico, he’s now just Schmidt. Watching Schmidt come out to his co-workers after they praised him for his new confidence was amazing. Almost as amazing as watching him and Nico plan next year’s holidays together. Pardon us while we take a minute to swoon.

NEW WIDOWER

Let’s hope the guy who lost his wife about five seconds after they were married gets some love. He was lovely and deserves to find a partner who turns back time for him.

Watch Grey’s Anatomy every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. MT on CTV.
