Obviously a cast consisting of Emma Watson, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern and Saoirse Ronan (to name just a few) was going to get our attention, but with Little Women having its world premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York this weekend, we now officially want hang out at a cast party because it looks like it would be a blast!
Writer-director Greta Gerwig was joined by the above cast members and Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen and James Norton as well as other big names, all hamming it up on the red carpet. You’ve got Timmy Chalamet photobombs, lighthearted horseplay and Laura Dern telling a joke that we can’t hear but looks like it must have been hilarious.
See all that (plus the accompanying fashion fierceness) and more below.
Everyone was having a blast at the ‘Little Women’ premiere
Timothée ChalametGuess this “LW” is the sign we’re going to be throwing up anytime someone asks us what our favourite movie of the season is. Thanks, Timmy! The gorgeous heartthrob wore some dapper Alexander McQueen pinstripes for the event.Getty Images
Greta GerwigPeople (like us) would pay good money to get a photo with Timothée Chalamet and Greta Gerwig gets it for free. Granted, it looks like she had no idea it was happening.Getty Images
Greta Gerwig and Noah BaumbachThe Little Women director also got her serious shots in with partner, and Golden Globe nominee, Noah Baumbach. Without the Timmy distraction, we can more fully appreciate the intricate Oscar de la Renta number she donned for the occasion. Getty Images
Emma WatsonOh haaay, Emma! Is it just us or is the British multi-hyphenate looking witchier in this Balenciaga gown with thigh-high sued boots than she did at any of the Harry Potter premieres? Not complaining, just observing. Getty Images
Florence PughThat’s a fabulous wintery jewel tone if we ever saw one, Florence. The actress was all wrapped up in Valentino Saturday and we’re taking notes for the holiday party. Getty Images
Saoirse RonanSomehow Golden Globe nominee Saoirse seems to be paying tribute to Little Women’s post-Civil War era costuming while also giving off Cleopatra vibes and staying incredibly modern. Kudos to her, her stylist and Gucci for the feat. Getty Images
Eliza ScanlenOkay this is straight up fabulous because we have no idea what’s going on and yet it still totally works. Eliza (the fourth Little Woman) donned an all-white Khaite ensemble consisting of a ribbed turtleneck crop top, voluminous ballskirt and balloon sleeves that would have made her the most stylish woman of the 1860s. The Little WomenLook at this gorgeous and talented crew just existing there, all gorgeous and talented. We stan so hard.Getty Images
Enter Laura DernWe. Need. To. Know. What. Laura. Said. Did she have a witty opening line when greeting her co-stars? Or was it just her sheer presence that sent them into a fit of delight. We need answers. Getty Images
Laura and Co.When she wasn’t distracting her co-stars from the official Little Women money shot, Laura was walking the carpet with her kids, 18-year-old son Ellery Harper and 15-year-old daughter Jaya Harper. She was wearing gorgeous glimmering midnight blue Ralph Lauren. Getty Images
Little GentlemenLouis Garrel and James Norton might play right proper dudes in the film, but they engaged in some horseplay on the red carpet at the premiere. This appears to be the classic “man, get out of my shot” exchange. Getty Images
Hadley RobinsonThis outfit is bomb and we won’t hear any arguments otherwise. Hadley (who plays Sallie Gardiner in the film) was decked out in Louis Vuitton and once you get over the dress, please take a look at those killer shoes.Getty Images
Zach BraffZach went full grey three-piece suit for the premiere and we appreciate it. He’s not in the film either, but turned up in support of his girlfriend Florence Pugh, though the two didn't pose together on the red carpet.Getty Images
Tracy Letts and Carrie CoonTracy plays newspaper editor Mr. Dashwood in the film and walked the carpet with wife The Leftovers star Carrie Coon. Getty Images
Diane SawyerJournalist Diane Sawyer is a busy, busy woman so we have to assume that Little Women is just THAT good. She just HAD to make time for the premiere.Getty Images
Ann CurryDiane wasn’t the only journalist making time for the premiere—Ann Curry also showed up in a bright pink coat we’d like to add to our closets immediately. Getty Images
Alexandria Ocasio-CortezAOC in the house! Another busy, busy professional, U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, hopped off Capitol Hill for a night to show some support for the film. That’s women supporting women, y’all!Getty Images
Sasha FrolovaHello, this is a glorious ensemble. Sasha stepped out in patterned Paco Rabanne and we have to say the extreme lip really seals the deal.Getty Images
Bill PullmanEven though he’s not in the movie, Bill Pullman just had to show up for the Little Women premiere. TBH, we’re pretty impressed by the hip dad vibes he’s serving.Getty Images
Keltie KnightThe Canadian LadyGang podcast host showed up in support of the film too. She proved two things: 1) polka-dots are totally an all-seasons thing and 2) rewearing outfits is totally chill. Getty Images
