You know who we love? Grandparents who text. They might not know what WYD (What You Doing) or FRFR (for real, for real) mean and they’re guilty of sending random texts that look like this “yyyyutyehw390852,” but once in a while they do something so adorably silly, we can’t help but thank them for the hilarity that ensues.

When Lindsey Lashley gave birth to her first child a few days ago, her excited mother took it upon herself to send a mass text out to her family informing them of the good news. The trouble was, one of the numbers she texted no longer belonged to a relative.

Take a look:

The stranger, who we now know is Dennis Williams, could’ve simply ignored the message.

Instead, he reached out with this:

Yes, Dennis Williams and his brother actually showed up to the hospital with gifts (diapers, bottles and a pacifier) for the new baby. Needless to say, the whole family was shocked and pleasantly surprised by this sweet gesture.

The new grandma even snapped a picture and posted the whole story on Facebook:

D’awww. If this isn’t the sweetest ending to a strange and random story, we don’t know what is.
