Do you want lashes so effortlessly beautiful that people will hate you for being so genetically blessed? Does the thought of applying false lashes on your own make you want to run far in the other direction? Then let me introduce you to Velour Lashes: high quality, gorgeous  invisible-band falsies that not only look natural, but are easy to put on, too.

I was first introduced to Velour Lashes when my BFF gifted all her bridesmaids a pair to wear on her big day. While they were beautiful, dramatic and perfectly suited to the occasion, my own personal tastes lean towards a lil’ something more subdued. Naturally, my ears perked up when I heard that the brand had an Effortless collection in the works. “Effortless” — which happens to be my favourite adjective because I love uncomplicated things that require little to no physical or mental exertion —  is right.

They’re easy to put in and, wearing my favourite pair called Short & Sweet, I almost look like I could’ve woken up like this. No mascara clumping, just good ol’ pretend genetics. The lashes are comfortable, don’t need to be trimmed and can be worn up to 20 times with proper care. Bonus, the brand also offers a latex-free lash adhesive — perfect for allergy sufferers and those with more sensitive eyes. I will note that the ends are a little bit trickier when it comes to staying in place, so adding a tiny bit more glue to both sides of the lashes (and directly on your lash line, where the inner corner of the lash will go) will ensure your secret isn’t revealed.

WHO IT’S FOR:

False lash newcomers who want to take the falsies plunge, or anyone who prefers more natural looking false eyelashes.

HOW MUCH?

$38 for the Effortless kit (including lashes, applicator and glue) or $34 for just the lashes.

WHERE TO FIND IT:

Sephora
