If you’ve ever touched stinging nettle you’ll know the pain and irritation it can cause. It’s an uncomfortable feeling to say the least, and not at all funny. Until it is.

British comedian William Andrews posted a video on Sunday re-enacting his four-year-old son’s reaction to falling down with both palms hitting a patch of nettles. The performance is almost Shakespearean.

The video has almost 20,000 likes and over 6,000 shares on Twitter. It has garnered a lot of reaction with some people saying it’s award-worthy.

Andrews has since posted a statement on his website about the incident after going viral.

“So that tweet about my boy falling over has run away somewhat – which is nice. I should tell you *he’s fine*. His penchant for the dramatic turn of phrase is to be admired i think. I simply cannot fathom from where he has adopted such a style.”

So there you have it, like father like son when it comes to the art of performing.
