First 'Quiet Place Part II' trailer is louder and scarier than you might expect

It'll scare the shhh out of you.

If you thought A Quiet Place was intense, just wait until you see the first trailer for the sequel. Emily Blunt is back in the post-apocalyptic thriller as her character continues to do whatever it takes to keep her family alive, fighting off the killer creatures that hunt whatever they can hear.The sequel takes place not long after the events of the first film, which saw Evelyn (Blunt) and Lee Abbott (John Krasinski) protecting their children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe), from the relentless monsters that kill anything they can detect by sound. In the new trailer, however, we see what it was like for the Abbotts on that terrifying day the creatures first attacked. Evelyn is driving down the street with her kids when the chaos hits and the struggle to survive was immediate.
Which brings fans back to real time, where we see people fleeing, fires burning, things exploding and, well, it's even more heart-stopping and action-packed than the original. Krasinski, who is directing his wife once again, shared the trailer on Instagram on Wednesday because what better way to kick off a new year with two and a half minutes of edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting, watch-from-behind-a-pillow viewing?Krasinski, who also wrote the script, added Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou to the cast, whose motives, in the first glimpse at their characters, remain unclear.A Quiet Place was a surprise hit of 2018, earning nearly (US)$350 million worldwide.
