Stuck on what to get that cheese lover in your life for the holidays this year, but don’t want to fork over the money for another run-of-the-mill cheese plate? Well we’ve got a solution for you.
Introducing the “Fondoodler,” a.k.a. a hot glue gun for cheese that gives you perfectly melty, ooey-gooey cheese whenever your heart desires. Which, if you’re anything like us, is pretty much all of the time.
The contraption’s pretty simple. You pop in a hunk of cheese (the Fondoodler comes with a special canister that helps mould your cheese into the proper shape), press the nozzle and presto! Melty cheese comes out like a glue gun. You can then use it to create words of edible, cheesy art. Think saltine cracker houses, pretzel log cabins and artsy nachos. Heck, we wouldn’t be against squirting that cheese directly into our mouths, either.
Basically you’d be the star of your next get-together with a contraption like this.
According to the official website, the Fondoodler can can handle pretty much any kind of cheese you throw in it: string cheese, Pepper Jack, shredded, whole… you get the picture. That makes it super easy to customize whatever creation you can come up with in that cheese-dreamin’ noggin of yours.
Each package, which currently retails for $25 U.S. ($34 CAD), comes with a canister, the actual cheese-gun body, a push-rod, nozzle and cleaner. Oh, and did we mention infinite cheesy possibilities? Sounds pretty damned Gouda to us.
Ready for the catch? (Of course there’s a catch). The first batch of Fondoodlers has sold out online, and the second batch isn’t guaranteed to be shipped before Christmas. And while the company is only charging five bucks for shipping in the States, it isn’t offering international delivery at this time.
In our eyes, that leaves us with one of two options: order one to your favourite American’s house and get them to ship it for you, or write the company at email@example.com and beg them to start considering shipments to Canada.
Because every cheese lover deserves a contraption like this in his or her life.
