When it comes to Halloween, we often don’t think about how wasteful it can be. Sure, you could go to the dollar store and spend $30 on a spooky ghost here and a fuzzy spider there, but these decorations don’t last. In fact, you probably don’t have the storage space for most of it so, next year, you’ll be right back to square one.
But have no fear, because Amrita Singh of Pretty Frugal Living has a host of cost-conscious tricks for the spooky season that won’t cost you an arm and a leg (heh). Our favourite idea is the balloon-dip pumpkins: all you need are some miniature pumpkin, balloons and a pair of scissors. They look exactly like you dipped them in paint, but you didn’t! And bonus, you won’t have a rotting, sagging jack-o-lantern stinking up your porch.
There are also some easy-to-assemble “specimen jars,” that are perfect for spooking and grossing out the little ones (heck, even adults). And if you’ve ever felt the creation of a haunted wreath would be a daunting task, you won’t after this video. It’s so darn simple!
