Kim Thuy was 10 when he family fled the Vietnam War and immigrated to Canada. She’s written three books on the subject before becoming an award-winning, critically acclaimed author. She also ran a restaurant in Montreal.

Now she’s combining her beautiful storytelling with delicious recipes in her first cookbook, Secrets From My Vietnamese Kitchen: Simple Recipes From My Many Mothers. It’s full of traditional but accessible Vietnamese dishes.
