April is Earth Month, and while our planet is something we should be thinking about and taking care of every day, it’s a good reminder to do better in all aspects of our lives, including with our wardrobes. Believe it or not, the fashion industry is the second-largest polluter in the world.
Stylist Erica Wark highlights some sustainable fashion options and other ways to lessen our carbon footprint. Check out the four looks below and where to get them!
LOOK 1: CLASSIC JEANS & TEE
This is a sustainable look from head to toe! The KOTN tee is made from the best long-staple cotton in the world, while Outland Denim uses organic cotton for its pocket linings, as well as recycled packaging. Complete your look with eco-friendly accessories all made from recycled materials.
LOOK 2: FLORAL MATCHING SET
This matching floral print set from TAMGA is perfect for the warmer temperatures ahead! It’s made from 100% Tencel which is a sustainable fabric. Not only that, the production of this outfit saved 15 litres of water and 3 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
LOOK 3: TROUSER & BLOUSE WITH A POP OF COLOUR
This blouse-and-trouser combination with a pop of colour is the perfect work look for spring. It’s from VSP Consignment in Toronto, which is another great way to shop sustainably. By shopping consignment, you can find incredible brands for amazing prices while also helping the environment.
LOOK 4: NEUTRAL MATCHING SET
Here’s another matching set with an entirely different vibe! This set is from H&M’s Conscious Collection, which features clothing made from sustainably-sourced materials such as organic cotton, Tencel and recycled polyester.
