Imagine there’s no country, possessions, religion or heaven. What would we be left with?
Only each other. That’s the message behind John Lennon’s famous song “Imagine.” And there isn’t a current situation more fitting to hear that message than the one going on in France right now. In one of the nation’s darkest moments, millions of people banded together in Paris to call for peace. Not war, not revenge — peace.
The rallies on Jan. 11 were attended by around 3.7 million people, and were organized to honor the 17 victims of the two terrorist attacks that took place in the country over the past week. One of which was on weekly satire magazine Charlie Hebdo for its cartoon depictions of the Muslim prophet Muhammad.
