Is there no end to George Clooney and his niceness? Just when we thought the movie star couldn’t possibly get any sweeter than visiting a sandwich shop staffed with former homeless people or getting arrested in order to protest the government in Sudan, he goes and casually surprises an octogenarian on her birthday.
Pat Adams thought she’d be celebrating a regular 87th birthday at her Sunrise of Sonning care home in Reading, UK last week. But then Clooney showed up, complete with flowers, a card and his signature pearly whites to surprise her.
It all came about after Adams had submitted a request to meet her big screen hero through her home’s “Wish Upon a Star” program. Basically residents ask for whatever their hearts’ desire, and the staff then does whatever they can to make those wishes come true.
Apparently Clooney and his wife Amal live pretty close to the home, and after they received a few letters with the request, Clooney decided to just casually pop on by. It goes to show you that it never hurts to ask, huh?

Obviously Adams was pleased as punch, posing with the star on what will probably be the most memorable birthday of her life. And to think it only took half an hour of Clooney’s time to make it happen.
“We are so delighted that Pat’s wish came true,” said manager Malcolm Hague in a press release. “She was absolutely thrilled to meet her great icon, and it was such a lovely surprise to see George greet her with flowers and a card. This was a classy gesture from a wonderful man, and it has brought smiles to everyone at Sunrise of Sonning.”
Take note, celebs. Clooney is King George for a reason, and it has nothing to do with his awesome acting skills or charming good looks. It’s because he seems to remember the everyday folks who helped to get him to where he is today, and he takes the time to do awesome little things like this.
Those twins sure are lucky to have such an awesome dad, huh? Anyhow, happy birthday Pat. We hope it was as awesome as it looked.
