George Clooney was just minding his own business, riding his scooter in Olbia, on the island of Sardinia, when he was hit by a car. And it wasn’t a minor accident either. According to Clooney, he was going about 65 mph, nothing ridiculous, when a car cut him off, hitting him head-on. George ended up being thrown from his scooter and over the car. Like a horrible scene in a movie.

According to CNN, Clooney “smashed the windshield with his head and flew 30 feet from the car.” George was taken to a local hospital, assessed, given an MRI, and having not suffered any serious injuries or broken bones, was released less than two hours later.

All because the driver of the Mercedes failed to stop at a turn.

“George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital,” Clooney’s rep said in a statement. “He is recovering at home and will be fine.”

Clooney, who was on his way to the set of his upcoming Hulu miniseries Catch-22, will be back at it in a couple days. For now, he’ll be monitored by hospital staff as an outpatient for the next 20 days, CNN reports, and recovering under the watchful eye of wife Amal Clooney. Hopefully their 13-month-old twins will give him some peace and quiet.

George might be the last person you want to hit with your car. OK, no one should be hitting anyone with their car but he’s not only one of the few genuinely nice famous people out there, his wife is also a bad-ass attorney. Amal could rip that Mercedes driver to legal shreds, if need be. You don’t mess with Amal Clooney.

Hopefully George will be fine. He’s not exactly a spring chicken and he already has back issues so his recovery might take a little longer than expected, but here’s hoping he bounces back in fine form. Get well soon, George!
