George Clooney ended his run as Hollywood’s most famous bachelor in 2014 when he married British lawyer Amal Alamuddin after seven months of dating. Now the A-lister husband is adding another surprising title to his name – father.

Just announced today, George and Amal Clooney are expecting twins! The humanitarian couple made their announcement just one week after Beyonce and Jay Z revealed they too are having twins this year.

George, 55, and Amal, 39, confirmed the news with The Talk’s Julie Chen, who announced the pregnancy on her show today. Chen revealed that the twins are due in June, confirming weeks of speculation that Amal, a highly successful human rights lawyer, is pregnant.

The twins mark the first children for both Amal and George, who was previously married to actor Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993. A bachelor for years, Clooney at one point vowed that he would never marry again, but that was before meeting Amal in 2013. We could list off the incredible professional accomplishments of Mrs. Clooney, but instead we’ll let Tina Fey and Amy Poehler do that.

In a 2006 interview with People Magazine, Clooney talked about the possibility of having children in the future. “I think it’s the most responsible thing you can do, to have kids,” Clooney said. “I think it’s the biggest responsibility you’ll have, and it’s not something to be taken lightly. I don’t have that thing in me that says,’must do it’. I don’t see myself ever having kids. But everything in my life has changed over periods of time … and the world does change.”

The actor and director has obviously changed his tune, with reports that the couple is excited to be entering parenthood. We’re sure George will be calling his close friend and frequent co-star Brad Pitt for some fatherly advice, with Pitt already a dad to six kids. At this rate, the two men will be able to cast their own kids in a remake of Ocean’s 11 within a few years.
