With every wedding — even royal weddings — there has to be a bachelorette party. But if you think Meghan Markle is going to party like it’s 1999, think again. This is a grown woman on her second marriage, this time to Prince Harry, the former most eligible royal on the planet. This is going to be a classy affair. We already know they both like to do things their way, so her hen party wasn’t going to be any different, “different” being the key word.
According to Us Weekly, Meghan plans on including boys at her bachelorette — and, no, not the stripper kind.
“Meghan will be having a party but won’t be calling it her ‘bachelorette,'” a source close to the couple told the mag. “Think low-key, think somewhere out of London, good food and drink, a little music. It won’t be wild.”
Because unlike many brides bidding adieu to the single life, Meghan wants it “to be a celebration of friendship and love.” Of course her closest friends will attend, people like bestie, and probable matchmaker Markus Anderson, Lindsay Jill Roth and our own (can we call her our own?) Jessica Mulroney. The big question: Will Kate score an invite??
As for Harry’s stag, there are reports that he and and his nearest and dearest are going skiing in Verbier, an exclusive resort village in Switzerland.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have offered their £13-million Chalet Helora to Harry and his friends, according to the Daily Star, and this, unlike Meghan’s party, will probably be an all-boys affair that will include his pals Guy Pelly, Thomas van Straubenzee, George Stoy and, presumably his brother, Prince William.
Both bashes sound about right. Markle’s got a tight-knit circle she holds dear, and she never seemed like a wild and crazy kind of gal, so a night out with her loved ones seems fitting. As does Harry’s ski trip with his bros. Hey, at least it’s not Vegas.
