Harvey Weinstein’s decades of destruction seemed to have affected just about everyone in Hollywood, so it makes sense that his trial is also turning into a A-list event. On Monday, 120 potential jurors arrived at a Manhattan courtroom for jury selection and among them was supermodel Gigi Hadid. The 24-year-old model was spotted outside the courtroom and according to one pool reporter inside, Hadid answered “Yes” when asked whether by Judge James Blake whether she could be fair and impartial. Along with the other potential jurors, Hadid was asked to read from a list of names and according to CNN, the model admitted that she had met Salma Hayek, whose name appeared on the list. Hadid was reportedly asked to fill out a questionnaire and return to court on Thursday along with 35 other potential jurors. In an Instagram story from last week, Hadid told her followers that she was excited to have been selected for jury duty, calling it a ‘dream come true.’ It appears we do have something in common with the supermodel, which is watching way, way, wayyyy too much Law and Order: SVU. If Hadid is selected for jury duty it could mean she’ll be busy for the next two months, with Weinstein’s New York trial expected to last until March. The criminal trial began on January 6, with charges of rape, criminal sexual act, and predatory sexual assault levied against the media mogul. The disgraced 67-year-old producer is charged with raping one unidentified woman in a New York hotel in 2013. He’s also charged with forcing oral sex on his former production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006. If convicted, Weinstein could face a maximum of life in prison.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Gigi Hadid says her sister is her ideal catwalk partner[/video_embed]On the same day that Weinstein’s criminal court proceedings began in New York, the producer was charged in California. Two unidentified women have accused Weinstein of rape and sexual assault, leading to charges of one felony count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration by use of force and sexual battery by restraint. If convicted, Weinstein faces 28 years in jail. Some of the more than 90 women who have accused Weinstein of sexual assault have been protesting outside of the Manhattan courthouse where Weinstein is set to stand trial. This group includes Rosanna Arquette and Rose McGowan, as well as Lauren Sivan, Louise Godbold, Dominique Huett, Sarah Ann Masse and Paula Williams. On Friday, protestors engaged in a flash mob outside the courthouse and chanted an anti-assault anthem by a group of Chilean feminists.

In much lighter news, it appears that Hadid has rekindled her relationship with musician Zayn Malik. The pair broke things off for a second time in 2018 but appear to once again be back together. Let’s hope that Malik is okay with his girlfriend being sequestered in a hotel for the next few months. Wow, we really have learned a lot from Detective Benson.[video_embed id='1875003']Queen Elizabeth releases statement about Harry and Meghan[/video_embed]
