They say most people are either dog or cat people. But given how quickly an unlikely duo bonded and spread their cuteness all over social media feeds, there may be some changing opinions right about now.
Meet Henry and Baloo, adoptive dog and cat ‘siblings’ who instantly took to each other when their owners introduced them a few months ago. Since then, they’ve been travelling the world with their ‘parents’ while posing for some of the most epic pet pictures around.
Hi 👋🏼I’m Cynthia ( @ourwildspirits ), Henry + Baloo’s mom! I want to introduce myself with some fun facts. But first THANK YOU all for following our adventures! It means so much to us that so many people care about our little family that we are lucky enough to have ❤️ You all make this life possible for us + we are so grateful! • 1. I was THAT horse girl in school 2. I grew up in New Hampshire + Massachusetts 3. Birks + socks are my go-to (try not to judge 😂) 4. One day I plan to have a farm with horses, cows, alpacas, pigs, goats (all pets of course) 5. I have asthma and Henry is always there encouraging me to live the life I want to live because life’s too short not to. 🤙🏼
When Hiker Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend rescued Henry back in 2014, they began bringing the adorable dog along on their hiking and camping adventures. But Henry’s popularity didn’t skyrocket until his owners made him an Instagram account (to date, this pooch has more than 118,000 followers).
Recently, the family decided to add a cat to the mix when they came across Baloo, a Siamese-mix kitten. The cat instantly took to Henry and even began looking for a way to drink milk from him as though he were his mother. Now, the two pets hang out with each other constantly — Baloo even travels around on Henry’s head. And Henry is quite protective of his little one.
“He’s definitely not the kind of cat we can leave home alone on the weekends,” Bennett said. “He thinks he’s a dog more than anything… If I touch Henry’s (leash) Baloo will start screaming at the door.”
Sounds like these two are the perfect pets for the Bennetts’ adventurous lifestyle. According to Henry (and now Baloo’s) Instagram page, they’ve been having quite the time travelling around. As you can see, Henry and Baloo add their insane cuteness to the amazing scenery.
Seriously, how is anyone supposed to get any work done when we can look at pictures like this all day instead?
Henry and Baloo are both rescues. Baloo was born in Evergreen and Henry in the streets of New Mexico. Adopting is something that has become very important to us. So, we wanted to help raise awareness about adopting senior and adult dogs. • • November is Adopt a Senior Month, so @stellaandchewys decided to give back! Use #SeniorPetLove and tag @stellaandchewys in a post and @stellaandchewys will donate $1 worth of their food to shelters and rescues focused on senior pets through their partner @greymuzzleorg ! All you guys have to do is post to help feed some pups in need! #stellaandchewys #sponsored
This is what I like to call the purrfect pick-me-up.
