The next time your toddler asks, “Mommy, what does an elephant sound like?” you don’t have to go digging for that super old animal sound book (you used as a kid) or scroll through a list of YouTube videos hoping to find a child-appropriate hit. Instead, just type in “what does an elephant sound like?” into your Google search bar and Google’s very own (and brand new) “animal sound” machine will show up on your screen–complete with a cute illustration of said animal and a short audio clip of what it sounds like.
This neat trick also works for 18 other animals, including your everyday pets like cats and dogs to more exotic creatures like bowhead whales and elephants. To catch all of the animals in action, simple type in “animal sounds” and get to clicking.
We’re totally going to play around with this feature whether there are kids in the room or not. Of course, the one animal question we’re all asking ourselves still has only one answer.
