British GQ has revealed their list of the top 10 best and worst dressed men of the year and their picks for both categories may surprise you.
The annual list is comprised of a yearlong discussion among the GQ staff, as well as experts from Giorgio Armani, Christopher Bailey, Sandra Choi, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Sir Paul Smith.
Coming in at the number one spot on the Best Dressed list is British actor Matt Smith. Best known for his role as Doctor Who, Smith took on an even more iconic British role in 2017, playing Prince Phillip opposite Claire Foy’s Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s drama The Crown. Landing at the top spot is an impressive jump for the BAFTA nominated actor, who wasn’t even included on last year’s list. Smith snags the number one spot from Drake, whose turtlenecks and flashy track suits earned him last year’s pick as number one.
So far GQ has only released the highest spots on their annual list of the 50 Best Dressed men, with Ryan Reynolds as the only Canadian making the top 10, no doubt in large part thanks to the help of his always fashionable wife Blake Lively.
American rapper A$AP Rocky comes in at number two, with actor Jeff Goldblum taking the third spot. No surprise, former One Direction member and owner of many brilliantly coloured embroidered suits Harry Styles nabbed the number four spot. Also in the top 10 are actors Andrew Garfield, Riz Ahmed, fashion designer Alessandro Michele, musician Skepta, and Brooklyn Beckham, eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham.
When the full list is released in January there will be many new additions to names on the Best Dressed roundup, including American musicians Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and duo The Chainsmokers, as well as writer and actor Donald Glover. Also making his debut this year is Prince Charles, who may be offering son Harry some fatherly fashion advice for his upcoming nuptials.
With the good also comes the bad. GQ has also released their picks for the top 10 worst dressed men of the year and surprisingly, Game Of Thrones actor Kit Harrington sits at number one. We always thought he looked dapper on the red carpet. Elon Musk, problematic youTuber PewDiePie, and Morrissey also make the Worst Dressed cut.
