That's a lot of story.

After a long summer of missing our favourite cliffhangers, terrible relationship decisions and super-hot doctors giving out difficult diagnoses, Grey’s Anatomy (Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV) has finally returned. We’re only one episode into Season 16 and already we have a surprise pregnancy, breakups and an uncomfortable threesome invitation. Oh Grey’s, we’ve missed you so much.

THE FIRED THREE

Meredith, Richard and Alex are all still technically fired after committing insurance fraud during the Season 15 finale and made it to the end of Thursday night’s premiere without getting their jobs back, which is longer than we thought they would go. Meredith played the mom card in court and managed to get DeLuca out of jail and keep herself out of a jumpsuit, instead being assigned community service and possibly losing her medical license. We don’t want to be ‘that guy,’ but the show is called Grey’s Anatomy, so you’ll have to excuse us if we’re not losing sleep over the possibility of Meredith GREY losing her medical licence. Fine, we’re losing a bit of sleep, but not an entire night.Richard, who we now realize may be a workaholic, is bouncing between jobs and interviews, greatly upsetting Katherine who did nothing when Miranda fired him. She didn’t do anything to help him keep his job at Grey Sloan, but she is upset he’s getting another job.As for Alex, unemployment seems to be the least of his troubles, with Jo thankfully checking into a treatment facility. To recap, his issues in order of importance are: Jo in treatment, personal hygiene then unemployment. Jo gives Alex an ‘out’ of the relationship, but the pair work through things in therapy with Kitty Forman. Alex finally remembers that Jo is incredible and more importantly, is not Izzy, and finds his razor and common sense.

THE BREAK-UP WE WANTED

Thank you, Grey’s Anatomy, for finally pulling the plug on the slow death that has been the Maggie/Jackson relationship that at best had a level-six for chemistry. If we had to watch these two hate one another for another episode we were going to take a walk in a fog-filled woods and hope to fall off a cliff. Goodbye, Mackson. You both deserve better.

THE BREAK-UP WE DIDN’T WANT

Teddy is proceeding with following her heart/hormones instead of her brain and is leaving a loving, stable and supportive relationship with Tom Koracick for whatever damaged and dark short-lived partnership she’ll have with Owen. As Tom said, he and his tongue (wow Grey’s Anatomy!) will be waiting when Owen inevitably messes things up with Teddy, because he will. Prove us wrong, Owen. Actually, don’t. We really like Tom.

HOW MEDICINE WORKS ON A MEDICAL SHOW

Amelia thought she wanted a threesome with Link and Carina, but actually she’s just pregnant. Two questions: First; was Carina in medical school when she learned how to tell that a woman is pregnant just by looking at her breasts or is that a talent she was born with? Second; do any of these doctors understand how birth control works?Side note, is that a picture of Arizona in Carina’s office? She really handles breakups well.Watch new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on CTV and catch up online anytime at CTV.ca.[video_embed id='1790146']Playing 'the hardest game ever' with 'Grey's Anatomy' stars.[/video_embed]
