Grimes clapped back at Elon Musk after he corrected her explanation of their baby’s name

Twitter has been twitterpated all week with the news that Grimes and Elon Musk’s much-awaited baby boy arrived safely into this world, and we are elated for them. Of course, most of us couldn’t make heads or tails of the name they have bestowed upon the little bundle of joy  - X Æ A-12. As one Twitter user pointed out, it sounds less like a name, and more like their cat just walked across the keyboard, but we digress…As Twitter tried to pronounce and dissect the name, the 32-year-old Canadian crooner (real name Claire Boucher) decided to hop on the ol’ social media to explain the meaning behind her new bambino’s moniker.

Okay so there’s a lot to unpack here. X is the unknown variable, cool. Æ is elven (there should be more elven names, frankly) for love or artificial intelligence, cool cool. And the rest is about some aircraft they think is nifty, cool cool cool. Hey, it’s their baby. C’mon now Elon. We know you’re probably the smartest man in every room you’re in, but you really need to learn to pick your moments. Luckily, Grimes was having none of it, and clapped back in epic fashion.

Luckily, he made amends rather quickly by calling her a powerful angel woman (we think, he used a lot of emojis there) and she responded with more heart emojis just in case anyone think they are already on the rocks.Ah, love in the time of X Æ A-12. C’est magnifique.Grimes and Elon Musk first hit the scene together as an official couple in 2018 when they attended the Met Gala arm in arm. Then, Grimes nearly broke the internet when she posted a naked selfie on Instagram of her with an image of a baby in utero projected onto her belly.

As others have pointed out, Grimes and Elon might run into problems under California state law, because the use of symbols and numbers is prohibited in legal names.
