What does it mean to be beautiful? What makes someone not beautiful? These are kind of tricky questions, and they’re fairly subjective. But we’ve learned in recent months that beauty can literally exist in anything and anyone. And that’s a great thing to realize and accept.
But, y’know what? We never thought we’d hear that message coming from a company so powerful in beauty and fashion – but that was the statement Gucci made when it decided to forego contouring, huns and every other trendy beauty trickery to sell its latest collection. That’s right, Gucci sent out models “as is,” to further this you-do-you moment the world is going through right now.
The models photographed above have minimal makeup, and in some cases they aren’t wearing any at all. The hair is natural, too. There are no weaves, nor extensions. It’s either fresh-out-of-bed or rich-girl hair, but it is all effortless, tousled and sometimes a little greasy. The takeaway: you can be this beautiful. Because you already are this beautiful. The clothes on the other hand? Well, they’re not for everyone.
Still, it’s a cool fashion statement from one of the world’s most recognized design houses.
