While we’re still pushing for all pandemic-time birthdays to be rescheduled for a later, more festive date, it’s nice to see that some parents are finding ways to mark these occasions and make the day special for kids celebrating in the middle of this whole mess. Earlier this week, Gwyneth Paltrow’s son Moses, whom she shares with consciously uncoupled ex Chris Martin, turned 14 and Gwyneth made sure that the day didn’t go by without a fun, socially distanced event.Paltrow shared a video of a small parade of black SUVs filled with cheering well-wishers pulling up to her gated home in her Instagram stories. The mini parade featured music, noise-makers, and balloons and seemed to surprise Moses who didn’t appear to be at all embarrassed by Gwyneth mom-dancing along to the beat. Best of all, everyone in the clip stays the recommended two meters apart — a relief to see considering that back in late March, a Goop contributor and so-called expert who labels herself a “holistic psychiatrist” made nutty (and harmful) claims about the coronavirus being a product of our collective fear. Uh, yeah, no. Her posts have since been removed from social media.Gwyneth Paltrow MosesWatching from the porch, a pyjama-clad Moses grins and waves to his friends, all from a safe distance. But then: “We got you candy!” shouts one of Moses’ pals before Gwyneth tells her son to “Go grab it!” (Please just tell us that someone disinfected both the gift and Moses as soon as the camera was turned off.)But back to Gwyneth. In addition to the mini-parade, the actor posted a sweet and sentimental ode to her teenage son on Instagram along with a slideshow of photos celebrating him. We’re guessing that Moses must not embarrass easily because while we love it, this would make even the most chill teens we know cringe:
