It’s been several months since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were ditching their royal duties (and paycheques) in order to become self-sufficient, but now that the couple has more or less settled into their new Los Angeles home it seems like they’re ready to tackle some professional gigs.Don’t count on Markle voicing more Disney projects or a debut Prince Harry album just yet, though. Sure, as per E! News the couple has signed on with the Harry Walker Agency, but the deal will have the couple “engaging in moderated discussions and keynote speeches with trade associations, corporations and community forums, speaking on racial justice, gender equality, environmental concerns and mental health,” reports the publication. So in other words, no TV or movie deals just yet.Still, this marks the first time the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a move to earn money since leaving Britain. Over the past few months the pair have continued their charity work and have been constant volunteers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, helping out at places like Project Angel Food and Homeboy Industries, charities that deliver food to those in need. The couple also recently announced the eventual launch of Archewell, the new foundation that they came up with after being asked by the palace to stop using SussexRoyal. "Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche'—the Greek word meaning ‘source of action'. We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son's name," the couple said in April. "Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon."Fans everywhere await the couple’s next move, but it seems they’ve been keeping plenty busy while in quarantine. Not only did they move from their temporary residence in Canada to their new L.A. home, but in May they celebrated Archie’s first birthday. They’ve also been practising their inspirational speeches, most recently with Meghan’s graduation address to her former high school, the all-girls Immaculate Heart High School in L.A.“For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been planning on saying a few words to you for your graduation and as we all have seen over the past few weeks, what is happening in our country and in our state and in our hometown of L.A. has been absolutely devastating,” Markle said earlier this month. “And I wasn’t sure what I could say to you. I wanted to say the right thing. And I was really nervous that I wouldn’t, or that it would get picked apart, and I realized the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing… You are going to have empathy for those who don’t see the world through the same lens that you do, because with as diverse, vibrant, and open-minded as I know the teachings at Immaculate Heart are, I know you know that Black Lives Matter.”[video_embed id='1919630']Before you go: Prince Harry pranked by hoaxers posing as Greta Thunberg[/video_embed]
