If there was one word for the Duchess of Sussex on day eight of the royal couple’s Oceania trip, it would be “stunning.” If there were two words, they would be “stunning” and “gorgeous.” If there were three words—you get the idea. Meghan looked incredible as she and Harry arrived in Fiji to begin their three-day trip to the island.

The royals arrived in Fiji Tuesday morning and were immediately greeted by a Guard of Honour. Meghan ditched the adorable beachwear she has been rocking over the past few days and wore an all-white mid-length Zimmermann dress with matching hat and black shoes. Better yet, she was wearing two gifts from her royal in-laws.
Kensington Palace confirmed that those classy pearl-drop earrings were a gift from Queen Elizabeth which the Duchess debuted on their royal outing together in June. They are very similar to a pair the Queen owns herself which leads us (and royal watchers in general) to believe Lizzie is pretty fond of her new granddaughter-in-law.
Meghan’s silver chain bracelet is also a royal gift – a wedding present from Prince Charles. Meg was first seen wearing the jewellery when she arrived at her hotel ahead of her wedding day in May.
Bula Fiji 🇫🇯! Meghan and Harry arrive in the rain & the Duchess, in Zimmerman, is presented with flowers and wears presents from her new family: earrings from the Queen & bracelet from Prince Charles. Royal reporters also have their suspicions about Meghan’s reception dinner look from Tuesday evening. The Duchess wore a gorgeous blue caped gown by British brand Safiyaa and a pair of intricate statement earrings – a look she rarely goes for. Kensington Palace will only say that they are “borrowed” but royal watchers speculate that they are right from the jewellery box of the Queen herself.
Earring update: @byEmilyAndrews confirms from KP that Meghan's earrings from this evening's State Dinner are "borrowed" and shared this closeup photo of them. Thanks, Emily! pic.twitter.com/rU3hiJ5bFU— Meghans Mirror (@MeghansMirror) October 23, 2018
This isn’t the first time Meghan has paid homage to an important woman in Harry’s life via earrings. On the eve of the couple’s trip, Meg wore a pair of the late Princess Diana’s butterfly earrings.
And the tributes don’t end there. This entire first day in Fiji seemed to be a nod to the Queen who toured the island as part of her first royal trip after becoming monarch.
Upon their arrival at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva (Fiji’s capital) the Duke and Duchess stepped out onto the balcony to wave to the crowds, replicating the same move made by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip 65 years ago when they arrived in 1953.

Harry acknowledged the parallels in both the royal tours in his speech at the welcome ceremony in the evening. He called the experience “nostalgic” since his grandparents have stayed in the very same hotel several times over the years.
Fiji’s President Jioji Konrote also gave a touching speech, telling Harry that his mother Diana “would be proud” of the man he has become and that he has found such happiness with Meghan. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
In a speech tonight, Prince Harry said: This visit is particularly nostalgic for us as a young married couple – my grandparents stayed in this very hotel, the Grand Pacific, a number of times over the years. https://t.co/fcNLx6rHPQ— Rebecca English (@RE_DailyMail) October 23, 2018
