Maybe because of how they looked, many of us always assumed that Prince William would be like his mother and Prince Harry would be like his dad. But as they’ve gotten older, particularly in recent years, it’s been the other way around. It’s always been Harry who’s had that pull to follow in Diana‘s footsteps and you see it in the way he is with children and the charity work he does.

Diana would often keep her ventures out of the media’s eye, because she wanted privacy for her meetings with AIDS patients. And that’s exactly what Harry did when he paid a secret visit to a hospital in East London.

And it just so happens, Mildmay Mission Hospital is the place Diana was photographed with an AIDS patient, shaking his hand and kissing him on the cheek, combating stigma and breaking down barriers.

Harry, who had just arrived from Africa, spent time meeting patients and talking to staff. “He had a chance to speak to staff there for a bit longer,” a spokesman for the prince told People. “He met with patients and spent some time learning a bit more about the work there.

He added: “He is continuing to learn more about HIV as a virus, and he was able to talk to them about his work on testing, which he is very interested in.”

Harry commented that he couldn’t believe how his mother Diana — who made 17 visits to Mildmay, 14 of which were secret — managed to sneak in without the press knowing.

Kerry Reeves-Kneip, director of fundraising, said: “She used to sneak in and out unknown. Nowadays, Twitter, no chance.”

Like mother, like son. If anyone could do it, Harry can. Even with Twitter.

Speaking of Harry’s awesomeness, in celebration of his 32nd birthday, we give you 32 pictures of him living up to his nickname. May we present, in so many more ways than one, Hot Harry:
