If you’ve been eagerly eating up every single photo of Meghan holding her baby bump and Harry staring lovingly at his wife, the latest royals news might just make your year. Baby Sussex’s first royal trip will be to Canada and the United States at just a few months old.
According to Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, the Sussexes will be making their second official trip abroad in fall 2019, this time to North America. The royals’ first trip to Australia immediately after announcing the baby news was a smashing success and it would seem they’re eager to jet-set again.
Sources say Meghan and Harry are keen to visit the U.S. as a family of three https://t.co/j0Go0lSh18— VANITY FAIR (@VanityFair) December 17, 2018
The duchess is planning on working right up until her not-yet-publicly-known due date in the spring, then take a six-month maternity leave before returning to her royal duties, including going on the trip. Courtiers are still in the beginning stages of planning, and no itinerary or dates have yet been set (presumably because they are dependent on when the baby comes).
The Sussexes were reportedly intending to visit North America in early 2019 but had to delay the trip when they found out about the pregnancy. Meghan has not been back to the United States since she married Prince Harry but possibly secretly visited Canada this past August. Back in her Suits days, then-actress Meghan spent long periods of time living in Toronto where the series was primarily filmed. Maybe we’ll see a Suits reunion next year too or a photo-op at the very least.
Meghan is quickly gaining more responsibilities as a royal, even as her due date nears. In the same report, Nicholl revealed that the Queen has been meeting with various charities and organizations about Meghan taking over her patronage and had Meghan herself over for tea last week to discuss it.CanadaMeghan MarklePrince Harryroyalssussextrending
