Whenever Meghan Markle heads across the pond to visit boyfriend Prince Harry, they typically stay holed up in Nottingham Cottage, his home within Kensington Palace. But once Megs is in England for good (that’s right, we said it), many have wondered if that’s where they will continue to live. Nope! Because, while a bachelor pad is fine for a dating or engaged couple, it’s not fit for a husband and wife, a royal husband and wife. So bye-bye London, hello Cotswolds.
Harry and Meghan are shopping around for a home outside London city limits with the help of property company VanHan, reports the Daily Mail. Royal sources told the paper that the couple are looking in Oxfordshire, an area which they love, and which also happens to be near Prince Charles‘ Highgrove House. It’s also a mere hour or so away from London, so not too much of a trek back to the city for royal duties.
The Cotswolds, and specifically Highgrove, is where Harry spent much of his childhood as it was Charles and Princess Diana‘s weekend home. Not only does the Prince have loads of memories surrounding the area, but Harry also has many friends and family members who currently reside there, making it the perfect place for Harry and Meghan to start their lives together.
“Before Meghan, he was vaguely looking in Norfolk, but didn’t find what he wanted,” said the insider. “Now, with her input, he’s renewed his search.”
But before they officially start their life together, they actually have to get married. And a source close to Harry told Us Weekly that they plan to keep it simple.
“Pomp and pageantry is the last thing he would want,” claimed the source. “I can see him wanting to get married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. It would stop it from turning into a total media circus and give the day a sense of privacy that Harry so badly craves.”
Another insider added that when they officially announce their engagement, they’ll “most likely hold a small photo call at Kensington Palace, with just one photographer and a journalist invited,” as well as a TV interview.
Oooooh, talk of their future can give a person the tingles, no? They just make sense together. Now, if the couple could please put us out of our misery and tell us what we already know, we’d love them even more.
