ICYDK and live under a rock, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially engaged. That news came when Prince Charles announced it, adding that Harry had already informed “The Queen and other close members of his family.” Harry and Megs will do an interview, which won’t air until later this evening in the U.K., but they did tease the masses with a brief photocall today in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, even answering a couple of questions.

He’s “thrilled,” she’s “so happy,” the proposal was romantic, “of course” (though more on that later), and she showed off the ring (which Harry designed himself, using two stones that belonged to his late mother, according to the Palace). But the best part? Harry knew Megs was the one the “very first time we met.” DYING.
Their appearance wasn’t long but they were giddy throughout. If that’s not love, we don’t know what is.
Earlier, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh said they were “delighted” for their grandson and his bride-to-be, and “wish them every happiness.” They latched on to Prince William and Duchess Kate‘s statement, saying, how “excited” they were for them and how “wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

Markle’s parents also had well wishes for their daughter and future son-in-law, which was shared on royal letterhead.

But it’s Markle’s Suits co-star/love interest Patrick J. Adams who wins everything, taking it all in stride.
