If ever there was a man to encourage young people to take part in positive social change, to be mindful and to take on the world’s greatest issues, it’s Prince Harry. He has a way with words, and masterfully gets through to the younger generation so that they listen and actually hear what he’s saying. He attended WE Day at the SSE Arena in Wembley, London, on Wednesday and, needless to say, his speech was inspiring and spirited.

He also shared one of Meghan‘s favourite quotes by Martin Luther King Jr., which has so much meaning, both for the WE Day audience and the world, particularly her world, today.

And naturally Harry didn’t just mention his wife; he brought her up on stage with him.

Meghan didn’t have a speech of her own, this was Harry’s event and, really, his amazing words said it all. But Meg didn’t have to make a sound, as her presence alone made an impact. The cheers that erupted when he went to grab her from the sidelines were thunderous and proved that despite all the crap she gets from British media, she truly is loved by so many.

The last time Harry appeared at a WE Day event was five years ago. He was dating Cressida Bonas and it was the first official event they attended as a couple. How times have changed! His speech this year made just as much of an impact as he did then, but this time, it came from an entirely different place. Harry’s words, firing up these kids, somehow seemed even more important now that he’s about to be a dad. Listening to him speak, as a father-to-be, makes his speech that much more moving. Well done, Harry.
