Sorry Game of Thrones fans, but it looks as though winter has indeed claimed one fan favourite, Jon Snow (Kit Harington). At least that was the good word from HBO programming president Michael Lombardo, who told reporters at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Los Angeles Thursday that the character is dead. Dead, dead, dead.
“Dead is dead is dead is dead. He be dead,” Lombardo confirmed.
We still don’t buy it. For one thing, the question was whether Jon Snow is dead. Not whether Jon Snow could be resurrected. Not whether Melisandre (Carice van Houten) might resurrect him. And really, it’s not like the president of programming would just give away one of the biggest cliffhangers in the show’s history.
And ALSO, if Jon Snow is indeed dead, what was actor Kit Harington doing in Belfast, where the sixth season is currently filming?
When Kit Harington walks into the hotel you’re in. 😍

Need more proof? Well aside from the fact that Harington STILL hasn’t cut that luscious Jon Snow hair, the character also wasn’t included in HBO’s Honour The Fallen: The Memoriam Collection of dolls and apparel that was recently released. We mean, heck. Even The Hound (Rory McCann) made it, and he was never officially confirmed dead, either.
Then there’s also the fact that it was just last year that Harington renegotiated his contract with the show all the way through Season 7, securing himself a nice raise. And do we even need to mention the R+L=J theory?
Naw, sorry HBO, but we aren’t buying this for a second.
