Looks like it’s that time of year again. The CNE is invading Toronto with rides, games, performances and strange food that you just have to try (because you’ll probably never try it again).

As is true every year, there’ll be dozens of food trucks and stops throughout the exhibition. That means you can eat anything from pasta and dim sum to Philly cheese steak in an eclair with whipped cream. Things just got a little weird, huh? Well hang onto your hats, they’re about to get even more strange… in the best possible way.

Pickle-wrapped, deep fried hot dogs, churro burgers, sandwiches with spam as the buns, a burger filled with mac and cheese (with about a million more ingredients), a fried pig ear sandwich and a bacon croissundae (it’s exactly as it sounds) are just a few of the many concoctions you’ll be able to enjoy starting this year.

It can’t come soon enough. Here’s a sneak peek of the fat-filled snacks we can’t stop drooling over–just to keep you going in the meantime:

Jolly Rancher donuts, anyone?

Just look at these chimney cone sundaes! Is that maple bacon we see?

Pulled pork on a cinnamon bun? Sounds strange, but we’d give it a go.

This is the 138th anniversary of the CNE, so you can expect the food to be the best so far! We’ll go just to try the deep fried cookie balls… and funnel cake… and maybe even that pork cinnamon roll. In other words, we’ll need tremendous self control to leave the CNE and not have a stomach ache. But who are we kidding? It’ll be worth it.

If summer has to end, let it at least end with good food. Check out the video above for more information on the CNE.
