Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are reportedly in the thick of wedding planning and are on track to tie the knot by the end of the year. A source close to the couple told People Magazine, “They are using a planner to finalize all the wedding details. Katy seems in charge, but Orlando is involved with the planning, too. They don’t seem stressed about it though. It will be a fun celebration with family and friends.”
The happy couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day, with Bloom surprising Perry with a helicopter ride that ended with the pair landing on a building in Los Angeles where Perry’s friends and family were waiting for them. Okay, that’s impressive. Also impressive? The flower-style engagement ring Bloom gifted Perry with, which is reportedly worth around $5 million.

The upcoming wedding is the second for both celebs, with Katy previously marrying comedian Russell Brand in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India in 2010. The couple announced their separation in December 2011 and divorced the following year. Bloom was married to model Miranda Kerr from 2010 until 2013, with the couple welcoming their son Flynn in January 2011. Bloom and Kerr remain close and it appears as though Perry has taken her role as stepmother seriously, with the women forming a friendship and even posing together at Kerr’s recent skincare launch.
Perry has been busy this year with her role as a judge on American Idol, working on her upcoming album, and her very public reconciliation with Taylor Swift. So, how have the pair found time to plan a wedding? Here’s what we know.
DON’T EXPECT A BIG AFFAIR
According to People Magazine, Orlando and Katy are planning on a “smaller and intimate” wedding.
US Weekly is reporting that Katy and Orlando are planning a destination wedding. Taking into account the pair’s combined bank account, the ‘destination’ could literally be anywhere in the world. Literally. Maybe even a space wedding. That feels very on-brand for Perry.
THE GUEST LIST
Considering the close relationship with Bloom’s ex-wife Miranda Kerr, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Australian model at the wedding. Katy and Orlando recently attended Karlie Kloss and Josh Kushner’s wedding and we’re sure Katy and Orlando will invite a few famous faces, but for the sake of keeping the event intimate, don’t expect to see the entire cast of Pirates of the Caribbean at Table 11.
NO MAGAZINE PHOTOSHOOTS
The couple have been secretive about their big day, so don’t expect any big spoilers in the weeks leading up to the celebration or a front page magazine spread with a BTS Instagram video of their nuptials. This is not going to be a Priyanka and Nick wedding.
THE BRIDAL PARTY
We can’t say for sure, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Bloom’s son Flynn as his best man and Katy’s sister Angela as her maid of honour.

LAYING THE FOUNDATION
Though we don’t have many concrete details (colour theme? First dance? Vegan options? Open bar?), Perry has said that it’s important to the couple, who have previously broken up and both been through a divorce, to ensure that their relationship is solid before saying ‘I do.’ Speaking to Britain’s KISS FM, Perry said in regard to wedding planning, “One step at a time. Definitely trying to lay the good emotional foundation for the lifetime of commitment, which is like a big deal.”
One thing we do know for sure is that when the pair do wed, they’re going to instantly become one of the most beautiful pairs of newlyweds in wedding history.
