In case you don’t follow Chris Pratt or Katherine Schwarzenegger on Instagram, or happened to unplug on Monday, let’s just say it was a day of love as we learned that the couple of seven months are engaged. Chris and Katherine may have surprised us all when they first rolled out their relationship but the more we saw them together, the more we realized just how perfect they are for one another.
In hindsight, we should have had some idea the news was coming. Things started fairly innocently with lunches in the park and attending church services but then it zoomed along. Some people might think they’re moving fast, considering Chris and Anna Faris‘ split in August 2017, but really, that was a year and a half ago. And when you know, you know.
You know who else knows? Anna.
Faris and Pratt have maintain an amicable relationship as they share parenting of their son, Jack, and Anna proved it by the way she reacted to the engagement news.
Does Anna mean it? It’s got to sting a smidge to see your ex move on so completely, but at the same time, this was not the life Anna wanted, and Chris is no longer the man for her. So good for Faris for showing us that exes can remain friendly and supportive of each other if the lines of communication are open and the work is put in.
As for Chris’ proposal to Katherine, a source told Us Weekly that Chris approached Katherine’s parents, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and asked for their “permission” around Christmas, adding that Maria “helped him with the proposal.”
It likely happened over the holidays and they decided to announce it once those who matter most — presumably, including Anna — were informed. Considering how harmonious things are between Chris and Anna, he and Katherine obviously have enough respect for her to let her know and for her not to find out through social media. At least that’s what we want to believe. Isn’t it great that everyone’s happy?
