During Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s sit-down interview following their engagement announcement, they divulged all kinds of details about their courtship, but one question remained a mystery: who set them up? If you’ve followed their courtship, it’s easy to assume it was the handiwork of Markus Anderson, who was with them during the Invictus Games in Toronto, one of their first official outings. But during that BBC interview, when asked about how they met, Harry said, “We were introduced by a mutual friend,” but Meghan interjected, “We should protect her privacy and not reveal too much of that.”

That’s right, “her.” So not Anderson then. But then who?? Was it Markle’s other BFF, Jessica Mulroney, who works with Sophie Trudeau–not to mention she’s married to Ben Mulroney, son of former prime minister Brian Mulroney? Too obvious? OK, what about fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who used to be married to one of Harry’s best pals and still remains friends with the royal. It wasn’t a coincidence that Meghan wore Nonoo’s “Husband” shirt during the Invictus Games last September, right?

Hmm, maybe it was. Because E! News is reporting that the matchmaker we have to thank is actually Violet von Westenholz. Violet — whose father is a baron and tight with Prince Charles — is a childhood friend of Harry’s and maintains a position in the Prince’s trusted inner circle, so much so that when it came to relationship woes, Harry would often turn to Violet for advice.

“Harry was having a really hard time finding anyone,” the insider told E!. “It’s hard enough finding someone new to date. He can hardly go on Tinder or a dating app like normal people, but to meet someone that you actually connect with, that was proving to be almost impossible. It was something he had confided in his closest friends about; he was ready to meet someone but it was so hard to actually find the right person.”

So when Violet met Meghan, and the two became friends, Violet knew right away that she may have just found Harry “the perfect girl.” And her handiwork clearly paid off because look at them now! Guess we’ll know for sure come May. Perhaps Violet will be a bridesmaid?
