Eva Mendes’ Instagram is a treasure trove of old photos of her as a kid, stills from films she’s acted in (along with her partner, Ryan Gosling), and snaps of her modelling dresses from her line with New York & Co. What you won’t find there, despite a regular stream of updates and content, are photos of her kids or an inside look at her life with Gosling. When, in the comments section of her account, a fan asked the star why she kept her personal life so private, Mendes generously took the time to explain herself (which she was most definitely under no obligation to do).“I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids,” she wrote in her reply. “I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. Since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent,” she explained. “And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”[video_embed id='1916119']RELATED: Eva Mendes has always had a nuanced outlook on relationships[/video_embed]Mendes and Gosling have two children together, daughters Esmeralda Amada (5) and Amada Lee (4) and so far, the couple has managed to keep their small family of four out of the public eye. Paparazzi rarely capture images of the girls — which kind of reinforces the theory that celebrities who are frequently photographed with their kids are having their PR people tip off the paps.Of course, there are those celebrities whose lives become such a big story that their kids get caught up in the drama (remember the photographic onslaught endured by poor Suri Cruise after Katie Holmes left Tom… and Scientology?). But, like Mendes, certain celeb parents have successfully put up walls to shield their young kids (Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, who went to court over the issue, are another pair that fall into this category). When it comes to photographs of her husband, anyone with working knowledge of how to operate a search engine is capable of finding hundreds. But Mendes won’t contribute to the cache. “As far as Ryan, I’ll only post flash backs of things that are already ‘out there’ (like pics from movies we did or stuff like that),” she wrote, again on Insta. “My man and my kids are private.”[video_embed id='1486594']RELATED: Ryan Gosling might be the nicest guy in Hollywood [/video_embed]
