It’s official, Lizzie McGuire is back, baby. OK, technically it was official when the reboot was announced in August but seeing Hilary Duff as Lizzie nearly 16 years later is kind of surreal and totally amazing. Granted, it’s not like we haven’t seen Duff out and about, or in different projects since. There was The Lizzie McGuire Movie, of course, the teen romance A Cinderella Story, appearing with sister Haylie Duff in that sister chick-flick, Material Girls and let’s not forget when her guest spot on Gossip Girl where she played a movie star who had a brief fling with Dan Humphrey. And Duff currently stars on Younger, where she’s been playing glamorous book editor Kelsey since 2015. But of course none of these character are Lizzie.

So when Duff posted a photo of the first day of shooting the revival (aka “first Lizzie day”) on Instagram looking gorgeous and fashionable, it was like seeing an old friend. A friend whose closet we immediately want to dive into because the suit, the coat and booties are highly covetable.

Then the Disney+ account shared a pic where Lizzie was in the same chic look but totally around an alpaca that she clarified was named Henry, adding that the fluffy white stuffed animal “really kept a girl warm today.” Well that answers some of our questions.

ICYMI, the new Lizzie McGuire series finds the former teen protagonist all grown up and living in NYC but considering we now know Lizzie’s family will be part of the reboot, it seems our girl Lizzie may be returning to California at some point. Unless the family followed her to New York, though that doesn’t seem likely.

Lizzie McGuire ran for four seasons, 65 episodes in total, and spawned the movie which featured the character travelling to Rome where she discovered she was the spitting image of an Italian pop star. Hmm, wonder if Isabella is also going to make an appearance? But, more importantly, what about Gordo? Despite their kiss at the end of the movie (spoiler alert?), we don’t know if actor Adam Lamberg has signed on to the series. Grown-up Lizzie may have a gorgeous chef fiancé but that doesn’t mean Gordo can’t show up and stir up a little trouble in the kitchen, right?

Whatever happens, Lizzie McGuire is starting to come together. And we can’t wait to see more.
