Sorry Donald. You can make headlines with your controversial comments all you want, but we’re still deeming 2016 the year of Hillary. After all, she’s been the first lady in our hearts for far too long, and it’s definitely time she take over that spotlight.
Not that she hasn’t been doing that — slowly but surely — already. Earlier this year Hillary Clinton appeared on Saturday Night Live in a hilarious sketch with soon-to-be box office star Kate McKinnon, who has taken over playing the Clinton character from the dearly departed SNL player Amy Poehler.
Now, Hillary has another Poehler connection and it’s one we’re even more excited about. That’s because it’s now official; Hillary Clinton will appear in an episode of our favourite gal comedy Broad City.
Clinton made the news official when she tweeted out photos of herself on set (the show returns Feb. 17). In them, she’s standing with co-creators and stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, along with executive producer Amy Poehler.

As anyone who has watched Broad City knows, this is a show where all bets are off and the guest stars are able to do some otherwise crazy and uninhibited things. Sure, Clinton still has an election to win, so it’s safe to assume she won’t get too wacky. But we’re still expecting something water cooler-worthy for sure. And to be honest, we kind of can’t wait.
After all, this is definitely outside of the typical talk show realm most politicians usually stick to.
Let the year of Hillary continue.
