The traditional fashion calendar operates fairly slow to us regular folk, but not if you’re fast fashion retailer, H&M. Today marks the beginning of Paris Fashion Week, where designers showcase their Fall/Winter collections an entire season ahead of when we’ll actually see the stuff trickle into stores.
Spring/Summer shows for the upcoming year happen in September — so that’s a lot of time in between us seeing the stuff on the runway, versus actually being able to buy the pieces ourselves.
But H&M is taking fast fashion to the next level. Today, their runway show premiered in Paris and on YouTube (in 360 VR nonetheless) and you can basically buy all the stuff you saw on the show online right now. Don’t like online shopping? Not a problem. Just pop into H&M tomorrow where the collection will also be available in select stores. All the gathers, smocking, pin-tucking and drawstring details can be yours, without even having to wait for the leaves to change.
While the concept was novel, what we loved most about the show was surprise special musical guest, The Weeknd. He took the stage in Paris, joined by a makeshift mosh pit of models, and is conveniently releasing his Spring collection with H&M tomorrow.
For all those who are wondering, yes, Bella Hadid — along with big sis Gigi — walked the show as well. No Selena sightings as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
