Being a hot dad isn’t just abs and pecs, it’s also diaper changes, dancing with your kids, letting your daughter dress you like a princess, and teaching your son that it’s okay to cry.

These celebrity dads set the bar high, whether it’s being a great parent, a great partner or a great example to their kids. But we’re also not mad if they flex a tricep or two while holding a baby.

CHRIS HEMSWORTH

In June, India, Sasha and Tristan’s dad announced he was going to take a year off from acting to stay home with his kids. “They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before,” said Hemsworth. “I have this year where I’m probably not going to shoot anything. I have a press tour, a few endorsements and bits and pieces, but mostly just be home.” Hot dad.

JOHN LEGEND

Luna and Miles’ papa is not only a supportive dad, but a supportive husband. The crooner has hit back in the press when wife Chrissy Teigen has been mom shamed, tweeting in 2016, “Funny there’s no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We’ll split it.” Funny, indeed. And very hot.

CHANNING TATUM

In a 2017 essay dedicated to daughter Everly that he wrote for Cosmopolitan, Channing Tatum said “I tried to imagine the things I’d want her to read that would help her understand men and sex and partnership better, and at that moment, I realized a strange thing. I don’t want her looking to the outside world for answers. My highest hope for her is just that she has the fearlessness to always be her authentic self, no matter what she thinks men want her to be.”

DWAYNE JOHNSON

When Dwayne Johnson found out that partner Lauren Hashian was expecting a girl, Johnson’s third, no one was more excited than the former WWE star. “Once again, big daddy is completely surrounded by beautiful estrogen and loving, powerful female mana,” Johnson wrote on his Instagram. “All girls. One dude. And a boy dog. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” We’d forgo the Big Daddy part and go straight to Hot Dad.

MARLON WAYANS

Amai’s dad celebrated Pride Month in 2019 by posting a picture of his teen daughter with rainbow sneakers, an image that unfortunately drew hate from some followers. Wayans expertly clapped back, telling the trolls “She’s 19. She is who she is until or until she don’t choose different. Love her for her not what I want her to be.” Supportive dads are the hottest dads.

PRINCE HARRY

Following the birth of his son Archie, Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle decided that their bundle of joy would not receive a royal title, thus helping the tiny tot to have a ‘normal’ life. Like, not like normal-normal, but kinda normal. Your royal hot-ness, Dad of Sussex.

WILL SMITH

Jaden and Willow are often spotted with their dad on the red carpet, but recently they’ve also been joined by half-brother Trey. In an emotional Instagram post, Will Smith revealed that after years of work, he’s restored his relationship with his oldest son Trey, who the actor says felt abandoned following his parents’ divorce. A dad who fights for his kids? Super hot.

DAVID BECKHAM

Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper’s dad loves gushing about his kids in interviews and social media, but his love for the foursome was never clearer than when his oldest son surprised him for his birthday. No present, no card, just being with their kids. That’s all that hot dads want.

JIMMY KIMMEL

Billy’s dad was already a great father, but when Billy was born with a heart condition, his dad used his platform to help other parents struggling with medical bills for their sick children and fought against legislation that cut health benefits for kids. Because yeah, some people cut health benefits for kids. Not Billy’s hot dad, though.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS and DAVID BURTKA

Lots of parents dress up with their kids for Halloween, but not many parents are like Gideon and Harper’s dads, who go full-out every October 31. And for Easter. And Christmas. And Valentine’s Day. This family loves holidays, Plus, two hot dads are better than one.
