Ryan Clarke was only 24 when a doctor told him that if he didn’t lose weight fast, he wouldn’t live to see his 30th birthday.

The Nova Scotia resident weighed about 400lbs at the time. A crippling case of depression left him unwilling to leave his home, and soon he was binging on fast-food three times a day. With two young children and a wife at his side, the warning from Clarke’s doctor shook him to his core.

“I was having headaches and chest pains and just like, lots of health issues,” Clarke said.

Knowing that it was now literally a do-or-die situation, Clarke was finally able to force himself to go to the gym. Then he went again. Soon, Clarke was going twice a day and eating better.

After just ten months, Clarke managed to drop a whopping 200lbs through exercise and diet alone. Looking at him today, you’d never guess he was ever overweight. In fact, he’s totally jacked.

“I went from being depressed in my house–not wanting to speak to anybody, not wanting to move to I’m out every single day now. And I’m loving life,” he said.
