How to do a full-body workout using just one dumbbell

If you think you need an entire gym in your basement to get in a decent workout at home, think again. Fitness and wellness expert Heather Wilson-Phillips says you just need one piece of equipment to work out your entire body, and that piece of equipment is a dumbbell.All of the exercises below can be done using just one dumbbell, and the exercises will help build some muscle and workout the entire body.

ONE-HAND DUMBBELL DEADLIFT SHOULDER PRESS

  1. Start down low in a deadlift position with the dumbbell on the ground
  2. Pick up the dumbbell with one hand and then press the dumbbell over your head
  3. Repeat

CURTSY LUNGE BICEP CURL

  1. Start with dumbbell in your hand
  2. Lunge behind and to the side and do a bicep curl at the same time

CHEST PRESS CRUNCH

  1. Lay on your back with hands on one dumbbell
  2. Press the dumbbell up towards the ceiling and crunch up at the same time

RENEGADE ROW

  1. Start in a high plank
  2. Put one hand on the dumbbell while the other hand is on the floor
  3. Row up with the dumbbell
  4. Set down and repeat on the other side
